No Drilling In ANWR – Blame Republicans

Lest you might think this is a partisan hit piece, I belong to no political party so I have no axe to grind. The American people have been played like fine-tuned fiddles over the years by both parties. It has brought misery, financial devastation and moral rot to our republic. Unless and until my fellow Americans flush their blind loyalty to a political party and stop being a participant in the tennis match called politics, we will never become effective in solving our problems instead of applying Band Aids. I would also mention I own a Ford Escape Hybrid as does my daughter.

The cost of gas at the pump is killing us, again. Diesel is through the roof, causing the cost of food to steadily rise, making it more difficult for truckers (especially independents) to stay in business. We see these boom/bust cycles with oil, shooting above $3.50 per gallon; in some areas it has gone over $5.00 since 2008. Rarely does the “bust” cycle drop back below $2.50 a gallon. This critical issue is nothing more than noise for talk radio and good ratings for cable network gabfests like FOX News. The losers, again: We the people.

Al Gore
“D” Scoring Al Gore

The Democrats continue to saturate this country with the lies from their global warming cult leaders like Al Gore. The former VP who has cashed in big time, increasing his formerly moderate net worth to more than $100 million dollars pushing propaganda. He is someone who is hardly qualified to even speak on the issue. Gore scored a “D” in Natural Sciences as an undergraduate student at Harvard. Not to mention his assessment of global warming, like his cronies making big bucks off the renamed hoax, climate change, has been shredded time and again by real experts.

Obama Speech Calls For Compromise On National Debt Crisis

Seeking to reclaim leadership on debt talks, President Obama on Monday night made a strenuous, last-minute pitch that tax increases be included in any deal, but Republicans’ top negotiator, House SpeakerJohn A. Boehner, said the president himself is now the chief roadblock to reaching an agreement.

In a hastily-arranged prime-time speech from the White House’s East Room, Mr. Obama tried to rally voters to demand Republicans compromise, warning of “sparking a deep economic crisis” if the GOPdoesn’t cave.

“The American people may have voted for divided government, but they didn’t vote for a dysfunctional government,” the president said in a hastily arranged prime-time speech from the White House’s East Room. “So I’m asking you all to make your voice heard. If you want a balanced approach to reducing the deficit, let your Member of Congress know. If you believe we can solve this problem through compromise, send that message.”

Mr. Obama’s 15-minute speech — in which he used the word “compromise” six times — came three days after Mr. Boehner said he was walking away from talks with the president, and would instead negotiate directly with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Nevada Democrat.

Those talks have produced two different plans:

Bank Closures Continue In 2011

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. or FDIC announced Friday the shuttering of two banks in Florida, and one in Colorado, taking the count of U.S. bank closures in 2011 to 58, after the 157 bank closures in 2010.

The three banks were closed on Friday by the regulators, with the assets of the failed banks beings assumed by other banks in an FDIC assisted transaction. The FDIC estimates that the cost to the Deposit Insurance Fund or DIF, by the three bank closures will be a total of $256.3 million.

Tampa, Florida-based American Momentum Bank acquired the banking operations, including all the deposits, of two Florida-based banks, Southshore Community Bank (SSHC.OB) in Apollo Beach, and LandMark Bank of Florida in Sarasota. Meanwhile, Kansas City, Missouri-based Bank Midwest, National Association, will assume all of the deposits of Greeley, Colorado-based Bank of Choice from FDIC.

Raw Milk and FDA Propaganda

On the raw milk front, Dairyherd.com has some interesting survey results on comparative raw milk regulations on a state-by-state basis. To summarize, thirty states allow consumers to transact with raw milk producers while twenty states prohibit that act of freedom. And don’t forget that federal laws prevent the sale of any raw milk, from anywhere, over state lines. The fed’s response to the good white stuff moving over state lines is sending in armed soldiers in full battle gear to destroy the enemy.

Thirteen mini-regimes in the US of A allow the sale of raw milk on the farm where where it was produced, while four of those thirteen only allow “incidental occurrences,” which, of course, cannot be defined. But arbitrary laws with a host of potential interpretations is how the feds are able to use arbitrary rule interpretations to seize product and regulate small producers out of business. The article defines incidental occurrences as “occasional sales, not as a regular course of business; no advertising.” Surely, the feds can interpret “occasional” and “regular” and “advertising” in a whole host of capricious ways.

Four of those thirteen states only allow raw goat milk while Kentucky and Rhode Island – now get this – require a prescription from a physician! Of course, you can interpret that to mean raw milk must be medicinal (ask Moms who cure their child’s allergies with raw milk), but then again, there’s no such thing as a Big Milk Pharma that exists as a corporate arm of the state to keep its products available for good health. Lastly, eleven states allow raw milk to be sold in retail stores outside of the farm.

Several of the states that allow the sale of raw milk for human consumption have various twists and turns in their laws that make it very difficult to get the milk from the farm to the consumer, which essentially limits, or in some cases prevents, the sale of the product. However, milk entrepreneurs whose businesses are stifled by fascist decrees have been creative enough to come up with the idea of herd shares that allow folks, in some far-flung way, to buy a “piece” of a herd and get their milk. Any time that people can conjure up visionary ways to skirt the laws of the totalitarian regime, freedom has taken a small step forward.

Meanwhile, the FDA is going after Tucker Adkins Dairy of South Carolina like gangbusters. All of three (maybe eight?) people allegedly got sick from the dairy’s raw milk. So three people are confirmed sick - diarrhea – and the FDA has thrown a ton of resources at the issue to propagandize against raw milk and tout the “safety” of the industrial milk product. The FDA even put out this newswire that was nothing more than an expensive, pure propaganda piece. Author and defender of food choice, Dave Gumpert, explains on his blog why the FDA felt compelled to launch its agitprop offensive.

Are you familiar with Robert Kiyosaki? He is best known for the “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” series of books. Over 26 million books authored by Kiyosaki have been sold and he is recognized as a financial expert by millions of people across the globe. Well, guess what? Even Robert Kiyosaki is warning that an economic collapse is coming. In fact, Kiyosaki and his team of financial experts are encouraging Americans to stock up on food, guns and precious metals. This is yet another sign of just how close we are to the total collapse of the U.S. Economy. Kiyosaki, who once co-authored a book with Donald Trump entitled Why We Want You To Be Rich is now a full-fledged prepper. As even more prominent Americans start warning that an “economic collapse” is coming do you think that the American people will finally wake up and start paying attention?

The statements that Robert Kiyosaki makes in the video posted below are absolutely jaw-dropping. Once upon a time he was all about teaching people how they could get rich, but now he is talking about storing food, buying guns, investing in precious metals and preparing for the coming crash.

The following are 11 of the best Kiyosaki “sound bites” from the video below….

#1 “when the economy crashes as we predict”

#2 “the crowds come rushing in to buy gold and silver”

#3 “we could either go into a depression or we go to hyperinflation”

#4 “or we could also go to war”

#5 “buy a gun”

#6 “I’m preparing”

#7 “I’m prepared for the worst”

#8 “so come to my house and I’m armed and dangerous and I’ll welcome you”

#9 “we have food, we have water, we have guns, gold and silver, and cash”

#10 “the credit card system shuts down, the world shuts down”

#11 “the supermarkets have less than 3 days supply”

U.S. Order To Shut Down Christian Websites

A shocking report authored by the office of Russia’s top religious leader Patriarch Kirill I [photo top left] states that this past week the United States ordered over 10 million Christian websites destroyed that they claimed were a “threat” to their National Security and that the American Internet giant Google quickly responded by making them all disappear.

According to this report, Google first came under assault from the US government in June when the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) announced that they had launched an investigation into the company, a move defended against by top Google executive Amit Singhal who aside from claiming the attacks against them were baseless said, “At Google, we’ve always focused on putting the user first.”

After weeks of unrelenting pressure upon them, however, this past week Google, which had refused to answer the baseless charges against them, caved to the US government and announced that their Chairman, Eric Schmidt, who had previously said the charges against them were nonsense, agreed to testify before a US Senate Committee under threat of subpoena.

On the very same day that Google caved into these US governments demands, this report continues, they then announced that they had blacklisted and banned over 11 million websites that had been registered for free through the co.cc subdomain the world over.  Giving as its reason for this largest in history removal of private websites Google asserted that it had the right to pull the plug on sites if they “see a very large fraction of sites on a specific freehost be spammy or low-quality.”

Co.cc is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Cocos (Keeling) Islands, an Australian territory. It is administered by VeriSign through a subsidiary company eNIC, which promotes it for international registration as “the next .com”; .cc was originally assigned in October 1997 to eNIC Corporation of Seattle WA by the IANA.

Ron Paul: We Will Default – Debt Unsustainable

Presidential candidate Ron Paul says he expects the U.S. will default on its debt.

According to video of Paul speaking on the House floor yesterday that’s posted at RealClearPolitics, the Republican from Texas said: “When a country is indebted to the degree that we’re indebted, the country always defaults. We will default because the debt is unsustainable.”

He continued: “If we don’t understand this, this default will not be because we don’t send out the checks. We will send out the checks. It will be defaulted on because people will get their money back, or they will get their Social Security checks and it won’t buy anything.”

The video can be seen here.

Ground Breaking New Therapy For Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome

For the American soldier, it’s become the sneakiest of all sneak attacks to watch out for – the enemy’s final chance to wreak havoc by secretly following the soldier home and attacking him and his loved ones there.

Post-traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD – frequently characterized as “bringing the enemy home with you” – has become an epidemic in the U.S. military. But because of a dramatic breakthrough from the grassroots, there is new hope.

The problem is dire. Exacerbated by back-to-back tours of duty in a war environment where enemy combatants are often indistinguishable from civilians and every passing vehicle a potential car bomb, up to 20 percent of Iraq and Afghanistan war vets are currently struggling with PTSD, according to the federal Department of Veterans Affairs.

And the Department of Defense Task Force on Mental Health, calling combat “a life-changing experience, imposing long-lasting emotional challenges for combatants,” reports a staggering “20 to 50 percent of active duty service members and Reservists reported psychosocial problems, relationship problems, depression, and symptoms of stress reactions, but most report that they have not yet sought help for these problems.”

Kids & Guns

I spent a few days recently with a family who will not let their children play with toy guns.  Far be it from me to tell someone how to raise children, but on this I have an opinion that I can not restrain. I will be the first to admit that toy guns can create some bad habits, but that is easy enough to correct at an early age. However, if you make the toy guns taboo, you make them all the more disirable.  Especially when the other kids have them.  Kids like toy guns, if you try to stop them, they will make them out of sticks, and play with toy guns at their freinds house.

I recently was watching “OP Restrepo” on PBS, which I highly recommend.  There is a scene with a young soldier talking about being raised by his Mom who he describes as a “Hippie.” He says that he was never allowed to play with toy guns.  At one point in his childhood someone gave him a toy that squirt water, but was not shaped like a gun.  However, since it said “squirt gun” on the side of it, he could not keep it.  He tells us this story as he is loading his Mark-19 grenade launcher then fires a volley from it. If his Mom could see him now!

The other situation that always worries me is the household where they have a gun (or guns) but the children are not allowed to see them.
